How to Connect to the Interactive Brokers API
Once you enter the SnapTrade connection portal, follow these simple steps to link your IBKR account:
Step 1 - Accept SnapTrade’s Terms and Conditions – This initial agreement is required the first time you connect any account.
Step 2 - Click “Continue” - Keep the SnapTrade connection portal open as you'll be instructed to enter your IBKR Query ID and Token, the next steps will tell how how to generate those.
Step 3 - On a new browser tab, navigate to the Interactive Brokers' website and log into your account.
Step 4 - Navigate to "Performance & Reports". This can be found in the top menu in your Interactive Brokers' account.
Step 5 - Go to "Third-Party Reports" and click on the gear icon under Third-Party Services.
Step 6 - Turn on the SnapTrade service on the "Configure Third-Party Services" page. You'll see a Query ID with 6-7 digits and a Token with 24 digits.
Step 7 - Copy and paste the Query ID and Token into the SnapTrade connection portal.
After completing these steps, you’ll be seamlessly redirected back to your app with your IBKR account now connected.
